Title:  Web Development Lead

The Web Development Lead is pivotal in driving the development of our customer-facing web applications by ensuring adherence to industry best practices. This role requires a hands-on leader who will perform 100% of the code reviews, ensure optimal application performance, and mentor a focused team. This position also encompasses agile project management responsibilities in coordination with the Director of Software Development.

 

Key Responsibilities

Code Quality and Review

  • Oversee and execute comprehensive code reviews to enforce industry coding standards and best practices.

Application Performance Optimization

  • Ensure that web applications are designed and maintained for optimal performance, scalability, and security.

Team Leadership and Mentorship

  • Guide, mentor, and upskill team members to strengthen technical expertise, particularly in Next.js.

Agile Project Management

  • Lead agile ceremonies (sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-ups) in close collaboration with the Director of Software Development.

Continuous Improvement and Innovation

  • Champion the adoption of emerging web technologies and implement process improvements to reduce technical debt.

 

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Certifications in relevant web technologies or agile methodologies are a plus.
  • Minimum of 9 years in web development with proven expertise in modern JavaScript frameworks, particularly Next.js and React.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing technical teams and enforcing coding quality through rigorous code reviews.
  • Ability to guide technical teams, mentor junior developers, and enforce high coding standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of Next.js, React, and modern web development practices with a strong focus on performance optimization and security.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with both technical teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly and effectively.
  • Deep understanding of Scrum and agile methodologies to drive efficient project management.
  • Must be willing to work in Ortigas, Pasig (Hybrid Work Setup).
