Title: Senior Insurance Manager
The Senior Insurance Manager is responsible for leading and managing the insurance and risk requirements of the Group's international businesses, with oversight of operations in the United States, and Europe. The role serves as the key liaison with global insurance markets, brokers, and insurers to secure optimal coverage, competitive terms, and cost-effective risk financing solutions that align with the Group's risk appetite and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Insurance Program Design and Placement
Direct the design and Placement of insurance solutions that align protection, cost, risk appetite, and business priorities
• Develop and execute renewal and placement strategies for assigned global programs and international operations.
• Assess current and emerging exposures and recommend appropriate limits, retentions, coverage enhancements, risk transfer structures, and market strategy.
• Lead insurer and broker engagement, submissions, bidding, negotiations, roadshows, binding, and insurer appointment in accordance with Group guidelines and delegated authority.
• Evaluate global versus local policy structures, including regulatory, admitted-policy, tax, claims-handling, and operational considerations.
• Ensure accurate and timely policy issuance, endorsements, certificates, and post-placement administration.
International Business and Market Oversight
Serve as the principal insurance and risk partner for foreign business, with oversight function on US and European requirements.
• Understand local business models, assets, contractual obligations, liability exposures, regulatory conditions, and insurance practices.
• Coordinate with country Finance, Legal, Operations, and other functions to translate business needs into practical insurance solutions.
• Support market entry, expansion, restructuring, acquisitions, divestments, and other strategic transactions through timely risk and insurance advice.
• Monitor material changes in exposures and ensure these are reflected in underwriting data and program design.
Global Claims Governance and Complex Claims Support
Strengthen claims outcomes and governance through active oversight, escalation, and technical support.
• Oversee claims management for assigned international and global programs in collaboration with the Claims team.
• Support negotiation of critical, complex, disputed, or high-value claims with insurers, adjusters, and brokers.
• Coordinate with Global Legal, external counsel, forensic accountants, and specialist providers where required.
• Identify coverage issues, recovery opportunities, claim trends, and lessons that should influence future program design and loss prevention
Risk Advisory, Loss Prevention and Resilience
Provide practical risk management support that reduces exposures and improves organizational resilience
• Review contracts and recommend insurance, indemnity, limitation-of-liability, and risk-transfer provisions in coordination with Legal and relevant stakeholders.
• Coordinate loss-control engineering and risk surveys for major facilities, including recommendations on fire protection, safety protocols, and inspection, testing, and maintenance practices.
• Support business continuity and crisis preparedness initiatives where insurance and insurable-risk expertise is required.
• Partner with the GIRM Head on enterprise risk management initiatives and efforts to embed a strong risk culture.
Data, Analytics and Management Reporting
Transform insurance and exposure data into decision-useful insights for program design, forecasting, and governance.
• Maintain complete and reliable global underwriting data, including asset values, revenues, locations, headcount, loss information, and other insurer-required exposures.
• Analyze claims experience, insurance-market behavior, coverage performance, and exposure trends to inform strategy and future program design.
• Prepare clear management reports on renewal status, pricing, coverage changes, market developments, claims, and material risks.
• Coordinate inputs from Local Country Insurance Administrator and contribute to the Global Insurance Loss Dashboard and other GIRM reporting.
Premium Allocation, Payables and Financial Governance
Ensure disciplined financial administration of global insurance programs.
• Review and validate allocation methodologies and country premium allocations for global policies.
• Coordinate premium invoicing, funding, and payment requirements with Finance teams, brokers, and insurers.
• Monitor outstanding premiums and resolve discrepancies or delays that could affect coverage.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and analysis of insurance costs and cost drivers
Insurance Market and Stakeholder Relationship Management
Build Trusted partnership that strengthen market access, service quality, and internal decision-making
• Position Jollibee Group as a well-managed global account with multinational and local insurers.
• Maintain productive relationships with brokers, insurers, adjusters, risk engineers, forensic accountants, external counsel, and other specialist providers.
• Conduct regular strategic reviews with insurance-market leaders and monitor relevant market and coverage developments.
• Communicate complex insurance matters in clear business language to senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
People Leadership and Special Projects
Lead or support strategic insurance, risk management, and cross functional projects assigned by the GIRM Head to address evolving business needs, strengthen risk governance, and support organizational priorities.
• Manage and execute special projects related to insurance, risk management, business expansion, acquisitions, and process improvements.
• Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure timely and effective project delivery.
• Support the implementation of initiatives that enhance the effectiveness of the Global Insurance and Risk Management function.
• Provide technical expertise and project leadership for priorities assigned by management.
Job Qualifications:
- Graduate of any business related course
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in corporate insurance, insurance broking, underwriting, claims, or risk management, including meaningful exposure to multinational or global accounts.
- Experience leading complex placements and engaging international insurance markets is strongly preferred.
- Must be willing to work in Ortigas, Pasig (Hybrid Work Setup).
