Title:  Research and Development Manager

Research and Development Manager is responsible for the following:

🔹 Market Research & Product Insights

  • Lead competitive benchmarking and taste evaluations of best-selling products
  • Coordinate consumer research initiatives with R&D and Marketing
  • Analyze consumer trends and equity studies to generate actionable insights
  • Recommend new ideas and initiatives based on market data

 

🔹 Food Safety & Regulatory Compliance

  • Lead food safety programs including allergen management and RHACCP development
  • Maintain up-to-date allergen matrices for stores and digital platforms
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external auditors to ensure compliance with national and LGU regulations
  • Represent R&D in cross-functional food safety meetings

 

🔹 Quality Assurance & Technical Services

  • Oversee quality inspections of raw materials and finished products
  • Develop HACCP plans and post-launch monitoring activities
  • Provide recommendations on food safety and quality in product design and store operations
  • Promote and improve the department’s quality management system

 

🔹 Inventory & Kitchen Management

  • Manage R&D kitchen operations, cleanliness, and equipment maintenance
  • Ensure availability of tools, raw materials, and supplies for testing and evaluation
  • Develop and implement inventory tracking programs for food and non-food items

 

🔹 Laboratory Services & Sensory Evaluation

  • Coordinate with PH Region R&D on lab methods and policies
  • Organize product cut-out analyses and sensory evaluations
  • Ensure optimal performance of lab equipment through regular calibration

 

🔹 Team & Organizational Leadership

  • Manage workload distribution across the technical services team
  • Recommend developmental programs for lab aides and technical staff
  • Collaborate with third-party agencies for personnel performance and feedback
  • Drive adherence to department policies and procedures

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Food Technology or any food sciende related field.
  • Must have at least 5 years of R&D experience in food service or manufacturing, with 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of food science, sensory evaluation, and food analysis
  • Excellent leadership, planning, and organizational skills
  • Effective communicator and team player with a proactive mindset
  • Willing to be assigned in Ortigas, Pasig.
