Title:  Director, Global Tax

The Global Tax Director shall be responsible for the overall Tax Compliance, Planning and Management of the Jollibee Group of Companies and its Subsidiaries, both Domestic and Foreign. These include:

  • Tax accounting and compliance;
  • Tax advocacy/audit;
  • Tax advisory; and,
  • Tax management, planning and research.

 

The Global Tax Director will be the main point person in coordinating Tax-related matters with External parties like but not limited to the following: 

  • Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR);
  • Bureau of Customs (BOC);
  • Local Government Units (LGUs);
  • External Tax Counsels and Advisors; and,
  • External Auditors.

 

The Global Tax Director  will be the main point person in handling, responding and resolving day-to-day operational queries on Tax-related matters of Internal customers like but not limited to:

  • Global Shared Services (Finance and Accounting and HR, Supply Chain and Logistics, Network Development Group/Engineering, Business Technology, Quality Management, Process Engineering)
  • Global Functions (Digital Technology,  HR, Legal, Marketing, Purchasing, Real Estate, Finance, Audit
  • SBU/Brand Operations and Support Units (Local, Foreign)

 

The Global Tax Director will be the main point person in handling Tax-related matters relative to Jollibee Groupwide Projects like but not limited to the following:

  • Acquisitions;
  • Mergers;
  • Divestments;
  • Restructuring of Legal Entities;
  • Setting-up of New Legal Entities in New Jurisdictions; and,
  • Capital Raising.

 

POSITION SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the overall Tax Compliance, Planning, and Management of the Jollibee Group;
  • Ensure Tax-efficient and compliant Legal Structure of the Jollibee Group;
  • Review and analyze applicability of NEW Tax Rules and Regulations to the Jollibee Group;
  • Prepare Internal Tax Memoranda relative to NEW Tax Rules and Regulations applicable to the Jollibee Group and cascade/provide guidance to concerned Jollibee Group Teams to ensure compliance with the NEW Tax Rules and Regulations;
  • Lead the implementation of applicable New Tax Rules and Regulations to the Jollibee Group;
  • Ensure for accurate and timely filing of the Income Tax Returns of the Parent Company, JFC and all of its Local and Foreign Subsidiaries;
  • Prepare BIR Ruling Requests, Protests and Legal Briefs on complex Tax issues which require a broad knowledge of Tax Laws;
  • Provide technical Tax advice and counsel to the Shared Services Tax Team and to non-Tax Support and Operation Teams on complex Tax issues related to their day-to-day tasks and operations;
  • Review and provide additional inputs to “Reply Letters to Tax Authorities” relative to Tax Assessment Cases;
  • Discuss, negotiate and resolve Tax Audit issues relative to Tax Assessment Cases directly with government representatives (BIR, BOC, LGU, etc.) with Management Direction; and,
  • Continuously review Tax-related Processes and Procedures, identify areas for improvements and implement identified Process Improvements with concerned Teams within the Jollibee Group.

 

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Lawyer
  • Seven (7) – ten (10) years experience in Tax practice with Accounting/Tax Firms with at least three (3) to five (5) year-experience in handling Tax Teams/Functions in private/ multinational companies
  • In-depth/solid knowledge on Philippine and International Tax Laws, Regulations, and Treaties at least in the eighteen (18) Foreign Jurisdictions where the Jollibee Group operates; significantly in US, Canada, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Taiwan, Europe, Ireland, etc.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in “Structuring and Re-structuring” of Legal Entities
  • In-depth/“rich” experience in initiating/leading/handling/managing projects
  • Must be organized, keen to details and always cautious on timeliness and accuracy;
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively both written and oral;
  • Must have Leadership/Interpersonal Skills and is able to work independently, with minimal supervision; and to extend support to Team, peers, and co-employees; and,
  • Must be computer literate with knowledge on Microsoft Office Applications and major ERP Systems like SAP
