Title:  Data Scientist

The Data Scientist will be part of the Advanced Analytics team responsible for understanding business need, analyzing, and translating enterprise-wide data into actionable insights, building predictive models, and addressing business opportunities with innovations. This role reports to the lead data scientist and involves working with cross-functional teams to develop analytical solutions, perform data preparation, and contribute to the implementation of AI-based and machine learning algorithms. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in numerical analysis, statistics, programming skills, and a passion for leveraging data to solve real-world problems.

Use cases to be worked on can range from customer engagement and experience, financial optimization and forecasting, geo-spatial analytics, supply chain analytics, video analytics, NLP and conversational, sentiment analysis, and Gen AI.

 

Data Preparation and Cleaning:

  • Cleansing and preprocessing for analysis, ensuring data quality and consistency and reliability for analysis.

  • Conduct exploratory data analysis to understand data distributions and identify patterns, trends, behaviors, and relationships within the data sets.

Statistical Analysis and Modeling:

  • Development, deployment, and monitoring of statistical models, geo-spatial platform, and machine learning algorithms.

  • Data profiling, analysis and infighting relevant to location, trade area, and consumers including campaign and intervention and its implication to demand, supply, and other business dynamics.

Data Visualization and Reporting:

  • Create narratives and presentations that explain models and insights, convince stakeholders of propositions, develop ways to measure value and benefits.

Collaboration and Learning:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across Marketing, Finance, Network Development, Stores and Operations, Digital, or Supply Chain SMEs to collaborate on use cases

Model Operationalization

  • Participate in developing capabilities for model deployment and operations including documenting procedures, updating AI playbooks, and model documentation.

  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and enrichment in the data science field.

 

 

Job Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Physics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Expertise in determining the appropriate statistical methods to solve business problems.
  • 5 years of experience in related field.
  • Flexibility in using various data science tools for data management, model development, monitoring, and deployment, including AWS, Snowflake, SageMaker, GCP/BigQuery, and GIS tools.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with business groups and stakeholders to understand their challenges, propose and deploy models, and measure results.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Prior experience in data analysis or data science roles is a plus
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
  • Solid knowledge of statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms.
  • Experience with data visualization tools like matplotlib, seaborn, Power BI, or Tableau.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Must be willing to work in Ortigas, Pasig (Hybrid Work Setup).
