Title: Data Analytics Manager (Audit)
The Data Analytics Manager (Audit) is responsible for overseeing the entire system development lifecycle in various automation projects, mentoring the team in building high-quality, scalable, and maintainable solutions and driving data-driven decision-making within Internal Audit. This role requires a balance of hands-on scripting, technical leadership, and team management. The Head for Global Audit Process Automation and Data Analytics will collaborate closely with other unit heads within Internal Audit and other departments/divisions, and other stakeholders such as BU Operations, Finance, RS, DT, BT, among others, to translate business requirements into technical solutions and data into business insights, ensuring projects are delivered on time and meet all quality standards.
Primary Responsibilities:
Project Leadership and Execution
- Lead and manage the audit process automation and data analytics team in analyzing and designing, scripting, testing, and deploying solutions. He/She provides guidance, direction and support in their day-to-day activities.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive analytics strategy to support the organization's business objectives.
- Oversee script reviews and enforce scripting standards to ensure high-quality script.
- Drive data governance initiatives by establishing data quality standards, ensuring data accuracy, and implementing data security measures.
- Collaborate with BT teams to ensure data infrastructure, systems, and tools are optimized to support efficient data collection, storage, and analysis.
- Collect and analyze data from various sources, including internal systems, third-party tools, and market research, to identify trends, patterns and opportunities
Technical Strategy and Innovation
- Drive the adoption of best practices in the solution’s architecture, design patterns, and scripting standards.
- Lead the continuous improvement of development and methodologies.
- Serve as a technological thought leader and advocate for the adoption of new technologies, latest industry trends and advancements in analytic tools and development process.
- Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making within the organization, promoting the use of analytics to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
Team Development and Mentorship
- Mentor and guide team members, providing technical direction and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Identify skills gap and organize training sessions to upskill the team.
- Monitor performance of staff against set standards, identify and discuss their strengths and areas for improvement. Administer effective discipline, as necessary.
Communication and Collaboration
- Act as the primary point of contact between the audit process automation and analytics team and other stakeholders, including product management, design, and operations.
- Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders in a timely and transparent manner.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, technical specifications, key performance indicators (KPIs) and build/develop dashboards and reports to track and measure performance against these metrics.
- Effectively communicate complex analytical findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through presentations, reports and visualizations.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Accountancy, Auditing or other related courses. A Masters Degree in this field is an advantage.
- At least 5 years experience in audit process automation, continuous auditing, software development and data analytics with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of data analytics and programming languages (e.g. ACL, Python, SQL, etc.), design patterns
- Experience in various software development methodologies including Agile and Waterfall.
- Certifications on Data Analytics/Science, Software Development, Scrum or Agile Project Management is an advantage.
