Title:  ABAP Technical Manager

The ABAP Technical Manager is central to ensuring SAP ecosystem thrives through strong vendor partnerships, thoughtful design governance, and a collaborative spirit. The role involves oversight of application managed service, governance of technical delivery, and possible hands-on involvement for high priority items.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Vendor Oversight and Delivery Management
    • Manage AMS vendor performance and ensure customer-focused delivery of SAP ABAP solutions
    • Define and monitor SLAs, KPIs, and quality benchmarks.
    • Conduct regular reviews of vendor deliverables and ensure alignment with enterprise standards
    • Oversee allocation and utilization of resources in alignment with project and delivery needs
  • Design Governance & Technical Leadership
    • Establish and enforce ABAP design principles and coding standards.
    • Review and approve technical specifications for scalability and maintainability.
    • Provide expert guidance on complex ABAP developments and mentor internal/external developers.
    • Actively contribute to coding and solution development for strategic, high-priority SAP initiatives.
    • Lead by example in delivering clean, efficient, and scalable ABAP code.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
    • Partner with functional leads, analysts, and project managers to co-create solutions
    • Act as the primary escalation point for ABAP-related issues.
  • Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement
    • Drive code review frameworks and automated testing strategies.
    • Lead continuous improvement initiatives in ABAP development processes.
    • Stay current with SAP technologies and bring forward innovative ideas.

 

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 5 or more years of SAP ABAP experience, including some experience in a technical leadership role.
  • Strong hands-on experience in ABAP Objects, BAPIs, BADIs, User Exits, and performance tuning.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in managing vendor deliverables for projects and/or BAU.
  • Must be willing to work in Ortigas, Pasig (Hybrid work setup).
