Title:  Plant Manager

Job Summary:
The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing end-to-end operations at the assigned commissary site. This includes ensuring the production of high-quality products in the right quantity, on time, and at the most cost-effective rate. The role focuses on driving productivity, quality control, process improvements, and effective team management to meet the company's operational and financial objectives.


Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Productivity & Cost Control

    • Develop and implement plans to achieve production targets while optimizing resources (manpower, materials, equipment).
    • Approve production schedules and manpower requirements to meet business goals.
    • Ensure on-time, in-full delivery of products to stores.
    • Monitor financial performance, ensuring efficient resource utilization and cost control.
  2. Quality & Sustainability

    • Enforce compliance with GMP, HACCP, and food safety standards.
    • Lead initiatives for plant improvements and facility upgrades.
    • Address any deviations in production systems or customer feedback, ensuring corrective actions.
    • Champion plant certifications such as HACCP and FSSC.
  3. Process Improvement (Lean Manufacturing)

    • Initiate and drive process improvements using lean manufacturing techniques.
    • Oversee CAPEX and OPEX, ensuring cost-benefit and risk assessments for operational projects.
    • Review and improve operational processes to optimize efficiency and profitability.
  4. People Development

    • Evaluate and mentor direct reports to identify performance roadblocks and developmental needs.
    • Plan and implement training programs for team growth.
    • Foster open communication, motivate teams, and drive a culture of continuous improvement.
  5. Compliance to Standards

    • Ensure adherence to company policies, safety protocols, and regulatory standards.
    • Review and approve system-related transactions (e.g., SAP, Ivalua).
    • Monitor the performance of third-party service providers.
  6. Other Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless plant operations.
    • Lead or participate in cross-functional projects to support company objectives.
    • Perform additional tasks as required to support the company's strategic goals.

Job Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing or production management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
    • Proven expertise in cost control, resource optimization, and lean manufacturing methodologies.
    • Strong background in quality control standards (GMP, HACCP, FSSC).
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
    • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and technology.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive process improvements.
    • Proficient in using SAP, Ivalua, and other manufacturing management systems.
  • Certifications: HACCP certification and Lean Manufacturing certification are a plus.
  • Other: Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with other departments.
