Title: Store Finance Accountant (Night-Shift)
The Store Finance Accountant is responsible for managing all cash and credit card accounts transitioned to JWS. The role ensures accurate recording, reconciliation, and monitoring of financial transactions, while supporting store operations through timely analysis, issue resolution, and coordination with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Risk Management teams. The position plays a critical role in maintaining financial integrity, cash controls, and month-end reporting processes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cash and Bank Reconciliation
- Perform bank reconciliations by matching bank statements against General Ledger (G/L) balances.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
2. Journal Entries Management
- Prepare and record daily journal entries as necessary to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Support adjustments related to cash and credit card transactions.
3. Transaction Monitoring and Coordination
- Analyze financial transactions and identify outstanding items.
- Coordinate with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) teams to ensure timely recording, payment, or collection of pending transactions.
4. Cash Variance Analysis
- Prepare and provide cash shortage/overage analysis upon request.
- Coordinate with Store Directors of Operations to explain variances and recommend corrective actions.
5. Store Coordination and Follow-ups
- Monitor and follow up with stores on missing deposits, incomplete sales data, or deposit discrepancies.
- Ensure all required documentation and clarification are obtained promptly.
6. Inbox and Case Management
Manage treasury-related communications and inquiries, including:
- Deposit slips and deposit bag tracking
- ATM card requests and deposit issues
- Counterfeit incidents
- IT-related concerns affecting treasury processes
- Paid-out/over/short transactions and daily bad bucket items
- Coordinate with Risk Management on theft cases or other financial incidents.
- Ensure timely responses and resolution to store inquiries.
7. Month-End Close Activities
Execute month-end closing tasks, including:
- Preparation of accrual journal entries
- Generation of monthly reconciliation reports
- Monitoring and reporting of outstanding checks
8. Balance Sheet Review
- Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and analysis.
- Ensure completeness, accuracy, and timely sign-off of assigned accounts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field
- At least 1–3 years of experience in treasury, accounting, or financial operations
- Strong understanding of bank reconciliation, journal entries, and financial reporting
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
- Willing to be assigned in Ortigas, Pasig City
